UK Student Visa Requirements

• Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from a UK university
• IELTS UKVI score: minimum 5.5-6.5 overall (depends on university and course)
• Bank statement showing tuition + living costs for 9 months: GBP 1,334/month (London) or GBP 1,023/month (outside London)
• Total financial proof: approximately PKR 4,000,000-8,000,000 depending on tuition and location
• Tuberculosis test certificate (from approved clinics in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi)
• ATAS certificate (only for certain research courses in science/technology)
• Valid passport (6+ months validity)
• Online application via UK gov visa portal

Application Process

• Step 1: Apply to UK universities (UCAS or direct application) and receive an offer
• Step 2: Accept the offer and pay the tuition deposit
• Step 3: Receive your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) from the university
• Step 4: Complete the online visa application at gov.uk
• Step 5: Pay visa fee: GBP 490 (approximately PKR 175,000)
• Step 6: Pay Immigration Health Surcharge: GBP 776 per year (approximately PKR 280,000)
• Step 7: Book biometrics appointment at UK VFS (Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi)
• Step 8: Attend biometrics appointment (fingerprints + photo)
• Step 9: Wait for decision (3-4 weeks standard, 5 days priority for additional GBP 500)

Post-Study Work Visa (Graduate Route)

After completing your degree, you can apply for the Graduate Route visa, which allows you to work in the UK for 2 years (3 years for PhD graduates) after graduation. No job offer required. This is a major advantage of studying in the UK.
